Night of Museums

The country’s biggest cultural event, the Night of Museums, will take place on the weekend closest to the summer solstice, Saturday 24 June. With concerts, guided tours, interactive events, family activities and a host of surprises, exhibition spaces are preparing to make this magical summer evening unforgettable. This year’s highlight city of the Night of Museums is the “City of Queens”, Veszprém, where 50 exciting events will be on offer.

This year it’s all about trends. The Night of the Museums has no secret intention of attracting people who do not or rarely visit museums or exhibitions.
This year, Erika Miklósa, Kossuth Prize winner and Liszt Ferenc Prize winner opera singer, has joined the event to promote it as its spokesperson.
In Budapest, discounted adult wristbands, valid for all participating institutions in Budapest, cost HUF 2,500, while children’s tickets (6-18 years old) cost HUF 1,200. Under the age of 6, admission is free. Tickets are now available at the museums’ ticket offices or on the ticketmaster.com website. The wristbands are valid on the museum shuttles running in Budapest only on this evening, but NOT on the Budapest public transport.
