Feminist Politics, Precarity and the Proximity between Art and Life

13.05.2021

We are going rather deep with this event – Bojana Kunst, a philosopher, dramaturg and performance theoretician, is going to explain a complex issue of precarity in art from feminist point of view. She will do so based on the analysis of two movies, Helke Sander Redupers, The all-around reduced personality and Marwa Arsanios Who is afraid of Ideology. We will face a rather important problem here – generalization of precarity in art is not always the best idea, because it can make said precarity to look shallow. World of art does not depend on solely one way of interpretation. Every piece is unique, a different world, contradictory, disproportionate and often deeply unequal worlds, with different living and working conditions, political anxieties and embodied traces of vulnerability.
