The city of Rome is divided into 22 districts that trace the Augustan regions, each of them has unique wonders! Today we visit the Rione Campitelli. In this walk we will start from the base of the Campidoglio in a very important place for the ancient Romans remembered as Rupe Tarpea, the infamous place where the ancients threw the enemies of Rome. On this place, the Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione at the Roman Forum was born precisely to give consolation to the families of the condemned by the Rupe. We will continue on the most beautiful view of the Eternal City from the Campidoglio and we will arrive passing from Piazza Margana to the Church that gives its name to the Rione S. Maria in Campitelli at the Teatro Marcello, an intimate and silent place that few know!
Duration of the visit about 2 hours (starting from the base of the Campidoglio to the Rupe Tarpea discovering a beautiful and little known Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione, then moving towards the Campidoglio, Piazza Margana and the hidden Church of S. Maria in Campitelli in the Theater area Marcello). All participants are required to wear a mask and possibly gloves at the time of payment.
