If you love good books, quality literature and strong stories, don’t hesitate and join this event which is dedicated to four great female writers. The writer Rossana Campo will hold 4 lectures on the autobiographies of 4 of the greatest writers in world literature: Jeanette Winterson, Marie Cardinal, Virginia Woolf and Gertrude Stein.
“The lives of dissonant women have always been close to my heart, women who have invented a way of being in the world of their own, destroying the clichés about the feminine and what was expected for our sex. I have chosen four autobiographical books of four writers who have been very important to me. Gertrude Stein, Virginia Woolf, Marie Cardinal and Jeanette Winterson, are four very different women, lived in different historical moments and endowed with different characters and events, but I find that one thing unites them: they are interesting stories because they tell us that each of them has tried to fully realize their life and their art, they have sought their voice at any cost, sometimes paying a very high price in terms of madness and social exclusion. They are women who have expressed their talent fighting against obstacles of all kinds, adversities and mental illnesses. I admire their struggle to get out of the symbolic prison in which has been locked up to always the soul and body of women. They inspired me in my life and in my work as a writer and now I like to try to tell about them.” Rossana Campo
The lessons will last two hours, from 18.00 to 20.00 and will be held online through the Google Meet platform. The cost of the complete course is 50 euros.
