One of the most interesting parts of Vienna you can visit no matter the season is Schönbrunn Zoo. The Zoo has been first opened and welcomed its first visitors in the 18th century and therefore holds the title of the World´s Oldest Zoo. Since then, they have acquired a renowned name as an institution that tries to offer its visitors the most authentic experience and provide them with an insight into the wondrous world of the animal kingdom.
The Zoo is opened daily from 9:00 (it may vary because of the government measures) and offers visitors, may it be kids or adults, various kinds of small events within the area. You can check out the Safari experience, feeding time with the littlest baby animals or watch polar bears play in the water. There´s definitely plenty to choose from. This event is suitable for everyone no matter their age.
The Schönbrunnn Zoo is located on the premises of Schönbrunn Gardens and is home to more than 700 animal species and lies on almost 17-hectare site. It is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage list and has been awarded Europe´s Best Zoo Award five times in a row.
You can come and have a look at various species of animals, some endangered and very rare, and find out more about how they live and why they have to be protected. If you´d like to see a little preview of some of the cutest animals you´ll be able to see there you can check out Zoo´s Instagram page where the staff posts interesting videos and photos of pandas, baby elephants, reindeers, koalas and many many more every day.
