It is built of travertine and has 4 floors, but a number of earthquakes have affected its appearance today. Today only 2/3 are preserved. The last and fourth floors were for lower companies and women. In the middle was the arena, which was used for combat. The entrance to the amphitheater was provided by 80 entrances. It has a capacity for almost 55,000 people.
There are several prophecies associated with this monument, including: “As long as the Colosseum exists, Rome will also exist; when the Colosseum will fall, Rome will also fall; when Rome will fall, the world will also fall.” As in the past and today, the Colosseum is one of Rome’s most majestic monuments, a visit to which is an unforgettable experience.
