Ban the Carnival

At the end of January, one of the most anticipated underground events of the season returns to Budapest: TILOS A FARSANG, organised by Tilos Rádió. On January 31, the Turbina Kulturális Központ transforms into a multi-space carnival of live music, performances and late-night parties, running continuously until dawn.

This year’s edition is tied to a major milestone: the opening show of the Tudósok 40th anniversary tour. Their concert marks one of the highlights of the night, but the event is far more than a single performance. Three different spaces host parallel programmes, offering concerts, DJ sets and experimental electronic music throughout the entire venue.

Main Hall

The evening starts early in the Main Hall with a sequence of live performances that gradually build up to the anniversary concert.
After the opening acts, Tudósok take the stage at 22:30 for the official launch of their 40th anniversary tour. Following the concerts, a traditional tombola leads into the late-night Tilos Party, featuring DJs including DJ Titusz, keeping the dancefloor moving well into the early hours.

Small Hall

The Small Hall runs a parallel concert programme with underground bands and alternative acts, followed by its own Tilos Party DJ lineup after midnight. This space offers a more intimate but equally intense atmosphere, ideal for discovering new names alongside familiar ones.

Upstairs – Cökxpôn Chill Zone

The upstairs area provides a contrasting experience, focusing on dubtechno, ambient and experimental electronic sounds. With dedicated visuals and special décor, this zone is designed for those who prefer a slower, more immersive sonic environment while remaining part of the overall event.

TILOS A FARSANG is not just a party night but also a community-driven event: every ticket purchased directly supports the operation of Tilos Rádió. This spirit of independence and collaboration has defined the event for years, making it one of the most distinctive nights in Budapest’s alternative cultural calendar.
