Picnic to start the summer

On Saturday, June 14, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, those looking to unwind can enjoy a cozy summer kick-off event in Bikás Park, located in Budapest’s 11th district. Organized by the Municipality of Újbuda, the aim of the event is to offer a laid-back, music-filled afternoon for everyone who would like to welcome the season in a warm, friendly picnic setting.

This isn’t a concert or festival, but rather a shared listening experience where classic Hungarian hits from the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s will play throughout the afternoon—creating the perfect backdrop for chatting, relaxing, or even dancing. The music will be curated by Zsolt Gréczy, a former radio presenter known for bringing nostalgic retro vibes.

Participation is completely free, and no registration is required. Organizers encourage guests to bring a blanket, some snacks and drinks, and simply enjoy the first truly summery afternoon of the season in the park’s green surroundings—whether with family, friends, or neighbors.
