Exactly 20 years ago, on March 14, 2005, Müpa opened its doors. That was the day our shared story began: that of visitors, artists and staff, who have since been shaped into a cohesive community by thousands of unforgettable experiences.
During this time, generations of artists have become experienced and globally recognized performers before our eyes, and countless viewers have been with us on this lifelong adventure from the very beginning.
On March 15 and 16, we will celebrate these memorable 20 years with a marathon weekend, with artists, many of whom have been closely intertwined with the fate of Müpa from the very first moment.
Families of artists and generations of musicians will take turns on stage: here we will have the Berecz, Kelemen, Ránki, Balázs, Lakatos, Bogányi and Oláh families – parents, children and sometimes even grandchildren playing music, singing or dancing together.
The most famous representatives of different musical generations are preparing to play together, from the trumpet to the cello and organ to the cimbalom. Of course, there will be productions focusing on singing and dancing: a special evening of folk singers, jazz, new circus, contemporary and folk dance will be on offer to those who join us.
