Dancing in the open air

On 12 September, the Hungarian House of Music is organising an open-air dance festival, where folk music and folk dance lovers can move together for an evening accompanied by the best musicians. The event is a great opportunity for participants to learn traditional dance steps while relaxing in a unique atmosphere. Don’t miss this fun and community-building evening where the magic of Hungarian folk culture comes to life!

This is the last chance to dance with the Sarjú Band on the House of Music’s 2024 Open Air Stage!
The young musicians were introduced to the country in 2015 in the Hungarian Television’s talent show “Fölszállott a Páva”. At that time, they showed their skills in the individual category, but backstage they started playing together. A close friendship and a new band were born, with the support of their families and artistic director Barbara Kuczera.
The vocation of the Sarjú Banda is to learn, preserve and keep alive the original Hungarian instrumental folk music. They learn with joy and respect from the masters, traditional musicians, and live it on stage and in dance halls.
