Mély levegő Performance

On 12 September, the Jurányi House will host the independent theatre production Deep Air, a personal story full of tension. At the heart of the production are human relationships and inner struggles, where we can discover the emotional depths and dilemmas of the characters. Perhaps there comes a point in everyone’s life when they wish they could move back into their childhood bedroom and watch the most important decisions of their lives. The main character, Vera, a visual artist with young children, searches for the answer to why things happened to her the way they did. The show is a story of divorce, but it is much more than that. It’s about silencing and confrontation, memories, slackness, snowfall and heatwaves, but most of all, it’s about finding a way home to oneself.
Rita Halász’s debut novel, Deep Air, won the Margó Prize in 2021 and was shortlisted for the Libri Literary Award’s 10 best books in the same year.
Hanna Pálos, a member of the Katona József Theatre in Budapest, is now seen in a more intimate, personal and direct production, after having portrayed major roles on the big stage.
