On 17 December, the Klasszis Műhely will be hosting a festive “szaloncukor” workshop. You will learn about the fondant sugar needed for the traditional Hungarian sweets, the basics of chocolate making, filling, decorating and wrapping. What’s more, from the pastry chef you can learn all the important theoretical knowledge while making the three types of szaloncukor.
Szaloncukor are a traditional Hungarian confectionery, still the jewel of our Christmas trees. Its ancestor is fondant sugar, which was originally used to make this delicacy. Today there are many varieties, so everyone can find their favourite.
In this workshop we will learn about fondant sugar, the basics of chocolate making, fillings, decoration and packaging. All the necessary materials and tools will be provided! Three types of candies will be made, with different fillings and packaging.
While you work diligently, our professional pastry chef will give you all the theoretical knowledge you need to make the perfect szaloncukor at home.
And of course you can take the finished sweets home! We will provide a box for this, but if you bring your own in an environmentally friendly way, we’d love to have you!
