On November 13, the European Art Cinema Day will be held in hundreds of art cinemas in 38 countries, and it will be waiting for interested parties for the seventh time in Hungary as well. The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the diversity of European cinema and the cultural and communal importance of art cinemas. Film fans will be able to choose from the special offer at the Uránia National Film Theater, where excellent films, including festival award-winning films will be screened before the premiere.
“Europe goes to the cinema again!” – For the seventh time, fans of art cinemas and European films are waiting for the European Art Cinema Day, which will be held on Sunday, November 13, in hundreds of art cinemas in 38 countries. The purpose of this cross-border event, initiated by the International Association of Art Cinemas (CICAE) and the Europa Cinemas network, is to draw attention to the importance of art cinemas as cultural and community spaces and to the diversity of European cinema.
On this day, the participating cinemas – including almost all art cinemas in Hungary – welcome the audience with a special selection of films, pre-premier screenings of festival award-winning films. This year, the local program includes exciting new works in a variety of genres, from film dramas awarded in Cannes, Berlin and Venice, to romantic comedies and musical documentaries to family adventure films, both international co-productions and new Hungarian films.
