The selection of flea markets is always changing in the city, but what is true for all is that you should either arrive early, as this is the time with the biggest selection or arrive before closing time and enjoy bigger discounts. And of course, don’t forget to bargain! There are a number of places in Budapest where you can get some real gems, and we’ve got a list of them for you:

1. Ecseri Market
2. Buda Bazaar
3. Lőrinci Flea Market
4. Antik Placc
5. Gozsdu Flea Market

1. Ecseri market

The largest flea market in Budapest. One of the most exciting places in Budapest for those who collect, who are fascinated by objects of bygone times and want to take a trip back in time to their grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ time.

Location: Nagykőrösi road 156.
Opening hours:
Monday- Friday: 09.30 – 14.30
Saturday: 07.30-13.45
Sunday: 08.30-13.00

2. Buda Bazaar

Every weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the Budaörs Flower Market area is transformed into a flea market, welcoming visitors, browsers and “treasure hunters” free of charge. A huge, seemingly endless flea market on the outskirts of Budapest. Sunday is the best day, but also the busiest. Second-hand books, antiques, clothes, curiosities, rarities, interesting things, in short, everything that the impromptu vendors have to offer! What’s more, if you want to turn your surplus items into cash, you can easily do it at the Buda Bazaar!

Budaörsi road 172-178.
Opening hours: Every weekend, 7:00-14:00

3. Lőrinczi Flea Market

Lőrinczi Flea Market is a great place for friends and family, as this always bustling marketplace is full of interesting things: objects of old-time charm, books, precious porcelain, paintings, furniture, crystals, tools, coins, toys, second-hand clothes, trinkets, jewellery and other curiosities. At the Lőrinci Flea Market, besides the traditional Hungarian “Lángos”, a real “retro” buffet will compliment the “treasure hunt” experience.

Location: Regény street
Opening hours: from 6:00 to 14:00 every day, closed on Mondays.

4. Antique PLACC

The Antique PLACC is a diverse marketplace on Sundays, with a huge selection of exciting antiques, design and retro products. There are re-purposed and transformed ornaments, chairs, tables, and old statues, lamps, retro memorabilia, postcards, candle holders, religious objects and home furnishings – all at a bargain price. Placc aims to shed new light on antiques, design items, the old and the new, to present old, restored and reinterpreted objects, their creators, in a beautiful setting.

Location: Klauzál Square – Market Hall
Opening hours: Sundays from 8:00 to 16:00

5. Gozsdu Flea Market

From Friday to Sunday, you can enjoy a pleasant stroll around this place in the morning. If you are looking for Hungarian handicraft products or souvenirs, this is the best place to find them! You can find many treasures such as antique stamps, paintings, clothes, jewellery, gifts and much more. You can also meet and with artisans and experience the true bazaar feeling!
