Comedy Truth

TRUTH is an excellent comedy full of unexpected situations, in which every misunderstanding only multiplies the audience’s laughter. The actors play a dynamic, light and audience-gracious entertainment that keeps the pace from the first minute to the applause.

A brilliant comedy about two married couples whose ordinary lives turn into a series of unexpected situations. Every small misunderstanding triggers another avalanche of funny moments and what should have remained inconspicuous turns into a source of laughter for the entire audience in an instant.

Michel is successful, charming and sexy. And of course, always one step ahead of others. He considers the fact that he has been cheating on his wife with his best friend’s wife for half a year to be a completely normal and natural thing.

He is a master at the craft of half-truths, white lies and “obfuscation” in all directions. It is his duty. He cannot hurt the people he cares about with the truth.

“If people stopped lying to each other one day, there would not be a single couple left together in the world. A total global catastrophe. It would actually mean the demise of our civilization.”

These are the words of Michel, the main character of Florian Zeller’s brilliant comedy, performed by the 13th Curtain Theatre. Whether you agree with his words or not, you have to admit that there will be something to it…

Especially when our hero is not alone in such a “philosophy of life”. Nothing is as it seems at first glance. Two married couples, infidelity and everywhere “truth”.

The production is based on a brisk pace, precise comedic timing and sharp dialogues, which the actors deliver with ease. The characters gradually get entangled in their own half-truths and assumptions, creating increasingly absurd and amusing situations.

The result is an evening full of energy, unexpected twists and humor, which works from the first minute to the final applause.
