We invite you to Adžana Modlitba’s exhibition Colourful Worlds in Modra. Entrance is free.
Adžana Modlitbová is a naive artist and jeweler from Bratislava. Her work is characterized by a naive pure depiction of the world and its perception. In her paintings she depicts the beauty of the Slovak landscape, folk motifs, but also her dreams and imaginations. She is inspired by traditional Slovak costumes and ornaments, fragments and stylizations of which she inserts into her paintings.
She founded the ART 40 civic association for the promotion of art and since 2018 she has been organising the International Exhibition of Naive Art NAIVA BRATISLAVA. She creates wire jewellery combined with glass and minerals and cooperates with ÚĽUV as a lecturer in tinkering and underpainting on glass.
Daniel Benkič is a naive artist from Šenkvice. He studied at the Secondary Industrial School of Construction in Trnava. Since childhood he has been inclined to art, in the 90s he was inspired by graffiti, and in Pezinok he initiated the creation of a space for spray painters on the wall of the amphitheatre. Since 2017, Daniel Benkič has been actively engaged in painting. His work captures the reflection of his childhood soul, and he is most inspired by the atmosphere of the night streets of the old town. He is fascinated by the stories that old houses have witnessed over the centuries. He uses canvas, acrylic and watercolour paints to express these feelings.
Both artists are guided in their work by their own instinct to depict things spontaneously, simply and honestly. The paintings they present in the exhibition are based on their positive naivety in looking at things, relationships and the world around them.
The exhibition by Adžana Modlitbová and Daniel Benkić, entitled Coloured Worlds in the Manor House in Modra, is open to the public from 7 February to 1 March 2025, during visiting hours from Monday to Thursday from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm, on Fridays from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. On Saturday, February 15, from 2 to 5 p.m., the artists have prepared a creative afternoon with a guided tour and demonstrations of their work. The gallery will be closed on Saturday, February 22.
