A day with scientists

Our scientists invite you to the largest popularization event called We Are SAV, 🧬 Science in Every Cell, which will take place on June 13-14, 2025, at Hviezdoslavovo Square in Bratislava.

⚗️ Over the course of two days, scientific personalities will introduce themselves and their research in a slightly different way. They will also reveal their hidden talents unrelated to science on the main stage.🎶

📚 They have prepared a rich program for you, which will be carried out in the spirit of the slogan “Science in Every Cell.”

🧠 Everything you see will literally come from their workshop – from music and dance 💃🏻, through humor and a little bit of magic 🔮, to science itself. Science will dominate mainly at the stands with presentations of interesting experiments, explanations of various phenomena, but also planned interactivity. 💡

😯 You will see science that you can understand. You can even touch it… Come and experience science with your own skin, eyes, ears, and heart.

Every cell in our body carries a story. A story of life, nature, evolution… and science. Scientists, visitors, and curious minds alike—we live science with every cell in our bodies.

Over two days at Hviezdoslavovo Square, more than 25 stands from the Slovak Academy of Sciences await you, where together we can prove that science is not just in laboratories – it is in us.

What can you expect?

✨ We explore space objects and sweets in the service of medicine – you will learn how sugars help detect cancer and viruses.

🧠 You will find out how singing is formed in the brains of songbirds and what the lottery of genes tells us about ourselves.

🧬 You will assemble DNA, test your body with a weight vest, and see how a river flows when we change its course.

🌿 In the LEGO world of geographers, you will explore landslides and meadows, find out what dragonflies tell us, and how soil retains water.

🦣 You will learn what huge animals once roamed Slovakia, how earthquakes occur, and what they do to buildings.

📚 On the electronic Literary Map of Bratislava, you will discover how the city is changing through literary stories.

🐸 And you can also explore the world of frogs, their parasites, and their ability to mirror nature.

🗣️ You can test your language skills, meet linguists, and discover new translations of classic and contemporary works.
