Shakespeare’s tragedy 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐇, loved by creators and audiences alike, is back on the stage of the Drama Theatre of the Slovak National Theatre!
The allegedly cursed play by the great Elizabethan Renaissance theatre, full of acting stars, will be performed on Friday 8. September at 19.00 h. Come and see a performance about the tempting but malignant temptation to gain absolute power, which makes one lose everything.
Macbeth, one of the texts of William Shakespeare’s timeless classic, is an integral part of the world’s theatrical canon. This shortest but perhaps most concentrated of Shakespeare’s tragedies delivers a minute theatrical vision of the evil slumbering in a revered hero who becomes a hated tyrant.
A supposedly cursed play about how thin the line can be separating hero from murderer and good deeds from evil. One of the most famous tragedies about the tempting but malignant temptation to gain absolute power that makes one lose everything.
What is it like to betray the trust of all those around us, even ourselves? There are no easy solutions. No one can wash the blood from our hands. A man who has everything and wants more. Evil is born here and now. Doesn’t that remind you of something? The Scottish tragedy returns to the stage of the Drama Theatre of the Slovak National Theatre for the third time. This time in an exceptional and distinctive interpretation by Martin Čičvák, a distinctive representative of one directorial generation. Paranoia. Metal. An army of bloodthirsty hyenas. Macbeth.
