? Pulp Fiction: stories from the underworld
The most iconic cult film of the nineties! In this iconic work of the 90s, Quentin Tarantino defined the core elements of his directorial poetics and created a multi-layered cinematic universe that was loved by discerning critics at the Cannes IFF, American academics, intellectuals and working-class people alike. Pulp Fiction is a multi-genre opus full of fetishistic detail and pop culture references. Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield are two inseparable third-rate gangsters in the service of the fearsome Marsellus Wallace. They are given one very delicate assignment. Butch Coolidge is a boxer whose career is coming to an end. Since there is no veteran’s league in boxing, he’ll simply have to accept the fact that he’s out and take Marsellus’ tempting offer – take the money, lose in the fifth round and fly off to enjoy himself with his beloved Fabienne in the sunny Caribbean. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny are a pair of amateur thieves, and by process of elimination they figure that since it doesn’t pay to rob banks, liquor stores, and gas stations, the best target for robbery is a restaurant. The very one you’re sitting in.

Three seemingly unrelated tales from the bloody underworld make up one story full of stylized violence, drugs, now iconic dialogue, absurd situations, and unexpected plot twists. It works perfectly as a suspense film with an innovative story structure. Seeing John Travolta dancing with Uma Thurman again on the big screen, listening to a discussion on burgers at McDonalds, Big Kahuna Burger and Jack in the Box, or a soulful sermon on the path of the Righteous is an unforgettable experience.
