Cooperation of local choreographers with top Slovak fashion designers. Fashion Ballet Gala 2025 will present the best of the ’22, ’23 and ’24 editions at the Slovak National Theatre from 11 to 13 March 2025.
Ballet and fashion – two separate art forms that primarily address the percipient through the visual sense. By watching the movement of the dancers’ bodies we can read encoded stories, by observing the dresses in motion we perceive their texture, cut and the designer’s motivation. Ballet and fashion have unconsciously gone hand in hand since their inception. In Romanticism, it was star dancers who set fashion trends in Paris; in the 20th century, icons such as Versace, Dior, Chanel and others created for ballet productions. Fashion Ballet Gala ´22 will present four original stage shapes, which are the result of the work of Slovak choreographers and fashion designers.
Fashion design and the art of dance have walked side by side for several centuries. During the three years of its existence, the Fashion Ballet project has brought to the stage a number of original dance miniatures and a number of beautiful costumes designed by Slovak choreographers, designers and composers.
