The 2026 program runs under the motto “DREAM BABY DREAM.” Now in its 63rd edition, the festival presents 24 acts featuring over 135 musicians from more than 25 countries.
The festival takes place at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and at other venues, including the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the jazz clubs A-Trane and Quasimodo.
Program highlights:
– BONECRUSHER: A 12-piece trombone orchestra led by Matthias Muche at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

– Globe Unity Orchestra: The historic free-jazz ensemble led by Alexander von Schlippenbach closes the festival
– Christian Lillinger (Open Form For Society II): A radical chamber music premiere featuring five keyboard instruments on stage

In addition to traditional stage concerts, special interactive events and film screenings are taking place in various neighborhoods and cultural venues. These include the “Jazz on Screen” film series at the b-ware! Ladenkino, compelling documentaries, as well as artist talks and panel discussions in the foyer.
A diverse range of food and drink—including hot meals, snacks, specialty coffees, and wine—is available throughout the festival. For anyone wishing to gain deeper insights into the jazz scene and learn a bit more about the musical culture, the “Jazzfest Community Week” in the Moabit district offers neighborhood and lunchtime concerts, decolonial city tours, and a creative program for children and young people featuring hands-on workshops in music, theater, and circus arts.
