The International Stadium Festival Berlin (ISTAF) is a traditional athletics event in Berlin. It is part of the World Challenge, a series of 14 top-class meetings. The first event under the name ISTAF took place on July 3, 1921, in the German Stadium. The ISTAF has been held regularly since 1937. During the Second World War and even afterward, there were several ISTAF-free years in 1940 and 1943–48. The International Stadium Festival Berlin is one of the largest one-day athletics meetings in the world.
