La Mercè is Barcelona’s biggest annual celebration and one of the city’s most anticipated events. For five days, streets, squares, parks and beaches come alive with concerts, street performances, Catalan traditions and activities for all ages. From spectacular human towers and fire runs to major free concerts, the festival offers something around almost every corner of the city.

PROGRAMME

23 September
• Official opening of the celebrations.
• First concerts and cultural activities.
• BAM programme begins.

24 September
• Main day of La Mercè.
• Traditional Catalan celebrations, concerts and performances.
• Family-friendly activities throughout the city.

25 September
• Performances by Els Amics de les Arts, Els Catarres and Teràpia de Shock.
• ELS40 Pop takes place at Bogatell Beach.

26 September
• Concerts by La Pegatina, Aterciopelados, Maika Makovski and others.
• Cultural activities and performances across Barcelona.

27 September
• Final concerts and activities.
• The celebrations conclude with the Piromusical.
