Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November, at lunch time, the XXII sagra della polenta will be held in the characteristic medieval village of Nerola, a few steps from Rome. In addition to polenta made with gravy and spicy sausage, on the menu you can also enjoy bruschetta with local DOP oil, water and wine. The two days will be enlivened with live music.
For the first 1,500 meals a wooden “scifetta” will be given, a classic dish where polenta will be served. During the two days, a characteristic market will also be set up with local artisans.
On November 9th, as part of the two-day celebration, Castello Orsini will organize several guided tours.
On 10 November, the Orsini Castle, in collaboration with the Compagnia dell’Inserenata, will organize a special guided tour of the castle, in theatrical version, with clothes of the time. During the various stages of the guided tour inside the castle, the public will meet men and women who, immersed in their daily chores, will narrate episodes from the life of Princess Anne Marie de La Trèmoille, fascinating and powerful, dwelling on anecdotes and episodes of the years of his Roman stay. For information on the Orsini Castle, please call 0774 683272.
The association cordially invites anyone interested in the festival to call us a few days before the festival, to get reliable information on the normal course of events, given that they will be held outdoors.
