The Mechanics of Monsters – From Carlo Rambaldi to Makinarium!
From October 22nd until January 6th 2020 the exhibition “The mechanics of monsters. From Carlo Rambaldi to Makinarium” arrives at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni
Carlo Rambaldi (1925-2012) is the man of special effects, the one who transformed its function: from contextual elements to film protagonists. His creatures are recognized and loved to the point that many films are identified with them: ET, King Kong, Alien, just to name a few.
Through materials from the Rambaldi private archive , some of which are unpublished, the exhibition will build a path that will trace the history of Italian and international cinema, from the 1960s to the present day. The accent will also be placed on the Italian artisan tradition as a “quality brand” that has always distinguished the cinematographic workers of our country.
The exhibition will also document the work of successive generations of Rambaldi. The Makinarium group, among the most qualified in the world in this sector, will restore the works of Rambaldi for this occasion and a section of the exhibition will be dedicated to their work for the cinema.
The exhibition is curated by Claudio Libero Pisano, promoted by Roma Capitale – Department of Cultural Growth and Palaexpo Special Company.
